ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) Members

ZEROBASEONE formed through Mnet’s survival show Boys Planet, which aired from February to April 2023. The final lineup included nine members: Kim Jiwoong, Zhang Hao, Sung Hanbin, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, Park Gunwook, and Han Yujin.

The group signed a two-and-a-half-year contract managed by WakeOne Entertainment.

Their debut mini-album Youth in the Shade released on July 10, 2023. The lead single In Bloom achieved seven music show wins.

The album sold over 1.8 million copies in its first week, making ZB1 the first K-pop rookie group to surpass one million pre-orders. By year-end, cumulative sales exceeded 5.6 million across all releases.

ZB1 won 10 rookie awards in 2023, including Golden Disc Awards, MAMA Awards, and Seoul Music Awards. This earned them a Rookie Grand Slam.

They held their first fan meeting in Seoul and announced a 2024 Asian tour.

2024: Global Expansion and Japanese Debut

ZB1 released their second mini-album Melting Point on November 6, 2023. The title track Crush topped domestic charts. The album sold 2.1 million copies in its first week. In March 2024, they debuted in Japan with the single Yura Yura (Flower of Fate). It peaked at #3 on Japan’s Hot 100 and sold 450,000 copies in its first month.

Their Bloom in Seoul arena tour spanned 14 cities, including Tokyo, Bangkok, and Manila. The group performed for over 200,000 fans. ZB1 also appeared on Immortal Songs, winning an episode with a rock rendition of In Bloom.

In April 2024, they released the digital single SWEAT for a sportswear campaign. The track charted in 15 countries on Spotify. Member Han Yujin became the youngest K-pop idol to design a collaborative sneaker line.

2025: Record-Breaking Comebacks

ZB1’s fifth mini-album BLUE PARADISE dropped on February 24, 2025. It sold 1.01 million copies on day one, their fourth album to achieve this. Fans speculated about a contract extension beyond January 2026 due to escalating demand.

The group launched a 20-stop world tour, including first-time concerts in Europe and South America. Sung Hanbin composed the B-side Starlight, which trended on TikTok. ZB1 also partnered with UNICEF for a youth education fundraiser.
