EVERGLOW is an all-female idol group signed under Yuehua Entertainment. It consists of six members — E:U, Sihyeon, Miha, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren – who made their debut on March 18, 2019 with the release of their album, Arrival of Everglow.
Pre-debut and formation
Some of the members of EVERGLOW were participants of various survival programs. Sihyeon was part of the show Produce 101 as an individual trainee in 2015 and was eliminated at rank 40 before signing with Yuehua Entertainment after the competition.
Onda, who was previously known as Jo Se-rim, was a former contestant on Idol School in 2017 where she was eliminated on the 4th episode after also placing 40th.
Sihyeon, this time with Yiren, were former trainees on Produce 48, the third season of the widely popular survival program. Yiren peaked at 8th place on episode 5, but also failed to reach the finals.
On February 17, 2019, Yuehua Entertainment revealed that they are preparing to debut a new girl group named EVERGLOW. The group’s official fan café and Instagram account was opened the following day and the members were revealed on Stone Music Entertainment’s YouTube channel with the release of “Crank In Film”.
2019 to present: Official debut
It was revealed that the title track for EVERGLOW’s debut album is “Bon Bon Chocolat,” an upbeat track with “a highly addictive hip-hop beat and an EDM synth sound”. It was co-composed with pop composer Melanie Fontana.
The group held their official debut stage on March 21 on Mnet’s M! Countdown.
Arrival of Everglow has so far sold more than 9,000 copies while “Bon Bon Chocolat” peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, becoming the highest new entry on the week of its release. The song recorded 944,000 U.S. streams and a total of 1,000 downloads for its first week.
