CNBLUE: The K-Pop Group With the Most International Appeal

CNBLUE is one of the most popular K-Pop groups in South Korea. The group consists of 4 members: Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Jong Hyun, Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin. They debuted in 2009 with their first EP “Bluetory.”

Since then they have released 2 more albums and a total of 13 singles. CNBLUE has won numerous awards including Rookie Award at the Golden Disk Awards and Best Male Group at the Melon Music Awards.

All four members work hard to maintain their popularity both inside and outside of Korea by making appearances on various TV shows around Asia or promoting for different brands overseas. Here’s a short bio for each member!

Jung Yong Hwa

he was born on June 22, 1989 in Seoul and was a former student of Yong In University. He is the leader of CNBLUE and also plays guitar, piano and bass.

Lee Jong Hyun

he was born on September 14, 1990 in Busan. He attended Hanyang University along with Minhyuk to major in Applied Musicology. He can play a wide range of instruments including guitar, piano and drums.

Kang Min Hyuk

he was born on March 30, 1991 in Seoul and attended Hanlim Multi Art School for his secondary education. His notable instrument is the drums but he also plays guitar and bass.

Lee Jung Shin

he was born on January 14, 1991 in Seoul. He attended Sogang University along with Yong Hwa and Jong Hyun to major in Applied Musicology. His instruments include guitar and piano since he is a former guitarist of the indie band “Crazy.”

Cnblue have been featured in different TV shows around Asia including Running Man and Infinity Challenge. They have also done numerous endorsements for different brands including LG Electronics, Incheon International Airport, Lotte Duty Free Shop and many more.
